Fortunate Son
or: Being Prepared is Stupid
“…the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory.” FDR’s 1st Inaugural Address
Imagine if FDR appeared before Congress on Dec 8, 1941 and told America that the attack on Pearl Harbor was a hoax and now was the time to disband the military forces of the United States.
The administrations of both Bush and Obama left offices and plans in place for just such an emergency as the Trumpvirus for the simple reason that emergencies ALWAYS come. ALWAYS! The Virus-in-Chief deliberately disbanded and ignored said offices and plans because he didn’t like spending on things he wasn’t using. Think about that: seatbelts are a stupid waste of money, life preservers are a stupid waste of money, parachutes are a stupid waste of money...
In January of 2020, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the President of the United States and, as a result, more than 200,000 Americans are dead.
As someone once said,”There has to be retribution when you have a crime like that.”
